This is one of the best takes on the election results that I have read so far. I would however add some more points which give me hope. 1) Leaving aside the issue of the PM, as you note there were many places across the UK (including Bristol where I live) where the incumbent candidate lost due to their support for the Gaza Genocide; 2) As evil as he is, Starmer also seems to be something of a robot. He even gave speeches with the PSC while serving under Corbyn. He certainly supports Israel but he also seems incapable of valuing anything other than his own power....we shall see how this plays out....
