Thank you, Aza! The irony to me was to witness this in a society that often contrasted its Christian culture to neighboring Muslim societies when in fact Georgian attitudes to women were often worse. But at the same time, I didn't want to smear the entire culture of country. Georgia is an amazing place, which I was able to appreciate once I got over my trauma.
