Like you I'm amazed and disappointed that contemporary publishers don't value fiction from previous centuries. I'm also bothered by the common assumption that if a novel from the 19th or 20th century never attained fame during its lifetime it must not be worth reading. There are so much great forgotten and untranslated novels as well as great classics!
